Freshly Picked Moccasins Review and a GIVEAWAY!

If you haven't heard of Freshly Picked Moccasins, you will! They are all over Instagram and the blogosphere, and their recent annual sale created an absolute FRENZY!

Susan Peterson, the mom entrepreneur behind Freshly Picked, is clearly doing something right. And I think a lot of it has to do with the culture of the company she has created.  This short video from the Freshly Picked site was really inspirational for me as a working mom.

When Freshly Picked offered to send a pair of moccasins for Evangeline and I to review, I was thrilled! I have drooled over their precious moccasins for so long, I couldn't wait to get a pair on Evie!  I mentioned to them that I loved the Platinum and the Cherry colors, but that I would be thrilled with anything they had extras of.  Imagine my surprise when I received not one but TWO pairs of moccs...one Cherry and one Platinum! I couldn't believe how generous they were to send two pairs.  I shouldn't have been so surprised, though. Susan, the Founder and Owner of Freshly Picked recently wrote that she thinks the most important quality for entrepreneurs is gratitude. It seems that even though their moccasins are gracing the feet of celeb babies, the ladies at Freshly Picked are still so grateful for each and every order they receive.

Size:  I decided to order a size 5.  Evie is in a 4 now, but I wanted to be certain her moccasins would fit for the fall.  Initially when I opened the bag and checked out the moccs, I thought they looked way too big! But when I held them up to a different pair of size fives, I realized they really are true to size.  They'll be a bit roomy, but I don't mind a bit! The longer they can fit her, the better!

Fit:  Freshly Picked Moccasins have elastic sewn in around the top, making it impossible for little ones to kick these off. If you've ever left Target with only one shoe on your babe, and you have NO idea where the other one came off, you know what a relief that is.

Style: Just look at these precious shoes! They are so adorable, come in the most amazing colors, and go with everything! Enough said.

Quality:  The quality of the Freshly Picked Moccasins is outstanding. Truly, truly, so great. I know these will survive to be worn by future Ndolo kids, which is wonderful. Each pair is handmade, and the attention to detail and workmanship shows.  And the leather smell is so great. I'm sure I looked silly smelling Evie's shoes, but I love the smell!  Because I know they'll last,  I tried (tried!) to choose colors I could use again, if/when we have a boy.

Price:  Sure, the moccasins are on the upper end of price, as far as toddler shoes go. Definitely expensive for our family. But, I truly believe you get what you pay for. I know these are an investment, but the quality is so great, and they will absolutely last.  Plus, I really do believe in supporting small businesses, especially those run by women!

Cons: As other reviews have mentioned, the only (very small) con I can see is that for the brightly-colored moccs (our red ones) there is a small amount of color transfer onto the soles of Evie's feet after she's worn them for awhile. But it comes off fast, and is just the slightest tinge, so I don't mind it at all.

And now, for the information you've been waiting for...the giveaway! Just use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter.  You have until Friday, August 16th at midnight to enter. I will randomly pick a winner on Saturday morning.  Don't forget to revisit Track 8 each day for extra entries!

*Contest open to residents of the U.S. only.
*Although we received the moccasins complimentary of Freshly Picked for review, all opinions expressed in this post are my own. I truly LOVE these moccasins!
